Winter Wonderland at Lancaster Equestrian Stables

Magic is a quiet, snow dusted haven in the middle of Monmouth County, New Jersey. One of my favorite times to visit the barn, Lancaster Equestrian Stables. Snow, untouched by horse or human. Stillness. And a beautiful view over the valley that once was home to the Haskell Hunt.

Truly, this property is a winter wonderland.

Peering over the valley and into the woods, the birds nestled in the trees. The stillness is poetic. All the horses snuggled inside their warm beds dreaming of summer.

Horse peers outside barn during snow.
A curious GP pokes his head out of his stall to say hello.

Enter the barn to hear nickers of greeting as one by one the horses greet you, their warm breathe misting the air. The barn is my sanctuary. It is a world apart from the hustle and bustle of every day lives. The barn is my haven.

  1. Magical! I always forget that New Jersey isn’t just one big city. It’s nice seeing the other side. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Andrea! That’s exactly what I was hoping for.

  2. Love the snow pictures

  3. Lovely photos! I have trouble doing wordless posts too. On my blog I do "wordless" Wednesday, aka not really wordless.

    1. I love it! That makes perfect sense. 🙂 They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but I still like to have the words…..lol.

  5. Those pictures are beautiful. I hope out had fun getting out a little.

    1. Thank you, Heather! Yes, it was so nice to be outside. My daughter has been sick and home with me this week, so as soon as she felt better I dragged her to the barn!

  6. Gorgeous photos! I hope that your horse is enjoying the snow. It makes a beautiful backdrop. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much! The horses have been cooped up for days but went out today. They are feeling quite spunky!

  7. Very pretty! And I agree, it is hard to be completely wordless!

    1. Right? Being completely wordless is something I have yet to master. And thank you! This is my favorite view.
